Maanling Commanding Elevation

As the highest volcano cone in Haikou City, Maanling Crater is also the culminating point in Northern Hainan Island, at an elevation of 222.8m, with inner diameter of 130m and 90m depth. It is said that Maanling Crater is one of extinct craters with the newest geologic age in our country and the most complete preservation in the world. Seen at a distance, the whole volcano looks like a twin-cone with recessed middle and two protrusion peaks in the south and north, which are named Fengluling and Baoziling respectively. From afar, a giant “saddle” lies under the white cloud and blue sky, with great magnificence, and local residents call it “Maanling” vividly.
